UARX has been selected by Thales Alenia Space as a provider for the IMAGIN-e payload onboard the International Space Station
Thales Alenia Space has selected UARX as a provider to contribute to IMAGIN-e (ISS Mounted Accessible Global Imaging Nod-e), a payload for a demonstration mission that will fly on the ISS.
The IMAGIN-e payload comprises a powerful on-orbit computer, an on-orbit application framework, and high-performance Earth Observation sensors to demonstrate and validate on-orbit computing technologies and potentialities onboard the International Space Station. This space edge computing capacity will allow gathering faster, to-the-point Earth observation insights immediately applicable for our planet's surveillance, understanding, and protection.
"With a Team with a cumulative experience of hundreds of years in the aerospace sector, including ten spacecraft around Earth, UARX is a game-changer start-up with a flexible and adaptable mindset that helps customers in any development phase of a space mission, from design, harness, operations to orbit delivery transportation," said Andrés Villa, CTO at UARX.
UARX will deliver the harness for the IMAGIN-e experiment. The complete set of the harness includes power and communication of the payload with the ISS. On top of that, UARX is in charge of designing and manufacturing the shielding that will protect IMAGIN-e against radiation and thermal radiators. "We are extremely thankful to Thales Alenia Space in Spain for their trust in our team, and we are ready to reach the ISS with them this year," said Yanina Hallak, CEO at UARX Space.
"With IMAGIN-e, we are stepping ahead in edge computing solutions in space to unlock new in-orbit climate data processing applications for the benefit of our planet's sustainability through Earth observation. We are happy to welcome UARX to the team," added Lara Arche, program manager at Thales Alenia Space in Spain.
