UARX Space, a Spanish spacecraft manufacturer and Space Locker, a French shared satellite operator recently signed an agreement to join their forces to propose turn-key space missions thanks to payload hosting on UARX’s OSSIE space vehicle using Space Locker’s universal space port technology.
UARX Space and Space Locker have decided to work together to offer a payload hosting service aboard the OSSIE vehicle as early as 2025.
To achieve this, SpaceLocker will be using UARX’s OSSIE vehicle as a platform. The OSSIE (Orbit Solutions to Simplify Injection and Exploration) orbital transfer and hosted payload vehicle, scheduled for June 2025, has already accommodated 12 customers from three continents, including pocketqubes and cubesats. On top of the payloads to be deployed, different IODs from companies and institutions will fly on board the transfer vehicle.
"We are excited to collaborate with France, with such promising company and dynamic Team, from SpaceLocker ", commented Federico Perazzo, UARX’ Space Business Development Manager. "By combining the capabilities of our OSSIE with SpaceLocker’s technology, we are fostering our common vision of a more accessible and environmentally conscious space industry"
As Théophile Lagraulet, CEO and co-founder of SpaceLocker, explains: "We are thrilled to announce this second flight opportunity with UARX Space, a great European partner trusted for its space products and with an ambitious roadmap. Progressively SpaceLocker is increasing its flight catalogue capabilities to be able to propose the best missions to our customers. One day, thanks to SpaceLocker and great partners such as UARX, sending hardware in orbit will be as easy as booking an Airbnb on the other side of the globe"

About SpaceLocker
SpaceLocker offers hosting services onboard spacecrafts to make space missions more accessible, flexible, and sustainable. In the wake of SpaceX's reuse of launch vehicles, the company was founded with the will to make satellite infrastructure reusable for a sustainable and efficient space industry that addresses the critical need to easily deploy hardware and software solutions in orbit without sacrificing mission performance or reliability. Established in 2022, SpaceLocker is a French company based in Paris and Toulouse. Backed by the French Space Agency (CNES), Thales Alenia Space and the ESA BIC, SpaceLocker is collaborating with numerous space firms to build a true gateway to orbits with its first commercial flights starting in 2024, creating a diverse launch manifest to cover payloads up to 100kg. This flight catalogue is composed of dedicated shared satellites and partner vehicles with secondary hosting capabilities enabling to cover both tests and validation of new equipment in orbit but also generate space data at scale. While SpaceLocker’s offer is focused on efficiency and performance for its users, the company is firmly standing for a sustainable development of the space industry both on Earth and in orbit as mutualization reduces mass sent per mission and space debris creation.
